About My Book Reviews

I've been reading since before I went to Kindergarten. I started tracking the books I read when I was in Grade 8, sometime in the early 1980s,. It was probably sometime in the following year that I discontinued the practice. I didn't take it up again until about 2015. Then, in late 2023, I started doing book reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I don't think I started with written reviews, just ratings. The written notes came much later. Then, in late 2025, I started doing book reviews for ARC (advanced reader copy) books that I'd received, both fiction and non-fiction.

I'm not going to go back and upload every book I've reviewed. Instead, I'm going to start with 2026. It may take me a bit to upload everything, but I'll get there. It's February 27, 2026 and I've already read 33 books, so, like I said, it'll take me a while. I'll upload the ARC books first because I don't have to go looking for a copy of the review itself. (I keep those in my OneNote for easy access.)

Before moving forward, please know this: I read EVERYTHING that trips my curiosity. I love MM books. That's gay romance, in case you're wondering. (I sometimes read FF books, but not as often. No, I don't know why.) I also like poly books, usually all M (male) with an M lead or all M with a F (female) lead, the latter is also referred to as reverse harem. So, yes, I do like MF romance, too! I don't like regular harem books, the ones with a M lead and all F poly group, so I don't read them. Clearly I like romance and some erotica, provided they have a good story and dynamic characters, but it's not the only kind of books I read.

I also read classical literature, mysteries, horror stories, drama, ghost stories, paranormal, fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, graphic novels, poetry, and more. I also read a lot of non-fiction, including memoirs, biographies, how-to books, personal development books, spiritual books, business books, leadership books, and almost anything related to science, nature, animals, or trees.

I try to read different authors and different kinds of authors from different parts of the world. I suppose you could say that my goal is to diversify my reading as much as I can before I run out of time on Earth to read. There are definitely more books to read than I have time left to read them, so I also need to be a tiny bit choosy.

I read paper copies, e-books, and I listen to audiobooks.
